How to Make a Screenshot
Do you know how to create a high quality screen shot from your computer? No, you don’t need to get out your cell phone camera
One way to take a screen shot is simple. Basically, you push the CTRL button at same time as the PrtScn button on your keyboard. The screen will then be copied into your clip board & you can paste it into any image editing studio such as paint.
Another is via the Firefox add-on for screen shots called Pearl Crescent Page Saver Basic (image above). This allows you to click a drop down menu & select either the full page or just the visible portion of the page. Once you have chosen to either make it a full page or just visible area, the image will then save as a .png image file. You can then choose to edit it or to use it as is. That’s it!
The Curve of Sitefinity 4.0
Working with Sitefinity 4.0 CMS has been a challenge & a great learning experience. The learning has mostly revolved around how the CMS works & figuring out how to meet the client’s requests without modifying the CMS itself. Therein lies the challenge.
While using this system, I have faced many difficulties in attaining the desired goals including but not limited to: adding multiple tags to the head section through the page title screen, and adding a custom user control through the user interface. Documentation on how to help yourself is limited by Sitefinity. There are a lot of default settings in place that are not modifiable by the user or developer.
So, where do we go from here? I have successfully deciphered their “help” for the user controls, you can find step-by-step instructions here – more details coming soon. As for adding multiple meta, script or css tags to the header: there is no solution as of yet. Currently there is a character count limit of 255 characters. You can view the Sitefinity Discussion thread here. If you are also experiencing issues in this area, please check back for a solution at a later date. I am still working on it.
