Earth Hour and You

I want to say Thank you to everyone who participated in Earth Hour. On Saturday night, hundreds of millions of people in 125 countries on all seven continents united to demand action on climate change. It is being described as the largest mass demonstration in history.

Did you or your business participate in Earth Hour? If you did, why? Our family sat around a bunch of candles on the coffee table playing acoustic instruments and singing songs. How did you spend the hour? I am a supporter of Earth Hour because I believe we can make a difference. Why are YOU?

Join Us for Earth Hour 2010

off switchTonight, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. the world will send a powerful message that climate change is a priority that must be dealt with now. By turning off non-essential lighting for one hour—Earth Hour—hundreds of millions of people across the globe will show their support for lasting action to protect Earth’s natural resources, environment and climate, now and into the future.

Led by the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour has grown from a city-wide effort in 2007 to a global phenomenon that has captured the world’s attention. Each year, individuals, organizations, businesses, and state and local governments come together to show their support by turning off the lights in homes, the workplace and at iconic landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Las Vegas Strip, Sydney’s Opera House and more. In 2009 alone, hundreds of millions of people turned out for Earth Hour – spanning 4,100 cities in 87 countries on seven continents.

We are proud to be an official supporter of Earth Hour. On March 27, we will be turning off all unnecessary lighting and computers as well as turning the website black for the day to help raise awareness. We ask you to join with us and millions of Americans and others around the wold in making Earth Hour 2010 the biggest effort yet. Getting involved is easy.
